Thats just too much crippling to handle. Here here. 1.66 & 1.83 on a core duo is pathetic in my opinions and solidifies my believe that the mini and i will never get along.at least for now. If you're gonna stay with core duo why not just make the mini a 1.83 & 2.00 GHz Core Duo machine like the macbooks. :) It makes no sense to me why would a laptop be more powerful than a desktop. :rolleyes:Īnd for all you Yonah FanBoys out there I say you are completely out of touch with reality living in some sort of parallel dimension where old obsolete stopgap technology prevails beyond it's short useful lifespan. Just depends what they charge, if they had core solo for $399 sales would go through the roof. And Apple would be losing money with every sale.
DRAGON BALL GT GOTEN UPDATE
The new systems are said to be "ready for production." Think Secret believes the models will be introduced in a few weeks time with little fanfare, although not totally under the radar like the last Mac Mini update ().Not Core 2 Duo?!!  :( I can't beleive they are not going to go Core 2 Duo in the mini before Thanksgiving.Only if they don't drop prices. According to the site, Apple will replace the existing Core Solo model with the existing 1.66 GHz Core Duo model, and add a 1.83 GHz Core Duo model, effectively eliminating all single-core CPUs from Apple's computer product line. Think Secret claims () to have information on the rumored revision () to the Mac Mini. I always expected CR to uncover issues with products, not simply ride the media public opinion wave or worse to publish fiction to sell their subscriptions. CR came off on this one like a politician wavering with public opinion. Where was the "non-recommendation" on the first review that rated the iPhone-4 as the best phone ever? That was when it was popular in the media to praise apple - before antenna-gate. They were simply out to take advantage of an opportunity to take wall street's favorite child down in order to get the spotlight. I would respect them much more if they did not recommend previous model iPhones that got worse reception.īut their biased unprofessional review with the reviewer's little demonstration with the masking tape showed their bias and intent.
What CR did was take advantage of the media hysteria and jumped on the bandwagon with a review that would put them in the spotlight. Which drops more calls just like other smart phones drop calls. Had it since July 5.Īnd remarkably Consumer Reports recommended the 3GS. With 3GS 30% of my calls were dropped, with iPhone 4, 0%. I can't believe I waffled between 3GS, HTC Incredible, and iPhone 4. Both are unrelated in their function.ĭitto for me. You could technically have a CVT transmission that you put in "drive" and drive off and you could have a traditional automatic with paddle shifters. What you're talking about has nothing to do with the inner-working, the paddle like shifters or + - gates on the shifter is simply an interface that lets you override any of the automatic transmissions and select your own gear.Ī distinction to make. They just differ in their inner workings. In reality, car CVTs do still have gears, like the Honda Fit which is a 7 gear automatic CVT transmission.ĬVT, DSG or the traditional fluid type are all automatics. In other words, it's a transmission type where you could theoretically have the engine spin where it produces the most power (let's say at 5000 rpm) all the time while accelerating. It can have any gear ratio between a set minimum and maximum, it has no "steps" like "1st gear, 2nd gear". And, yes, you can get paddle shifters if you want.Ī CVT is simply a transmission with no fixed gear ratios. CVT is what the particular manufacturer I'm considering calls their transmission. I'd be interested in a more complete explanation.
